Susanne Engman

I came across the works of Susanne Engman today while doing my daily web-hunt for inspiration.
I couldn't stop looking at her bright color combinations and funny characters.

Hand Job

I'm really excited about a purchase I made today! I bought Hand Job: A Catalog of Type by Michael Perry from Amazon.

I ordered a $25 gift certificate to Amazon with my Chase Rewards points and it came in today. I have a three page wish list forming on their site with tons of books on illustration and typography. I'm really trying to build a collection of books that inspire me and this will be the first for typography. And what could be better than starting my mini resource library with a free starter book?! I'm sooooo excited. I can't wait for it to come in!

New Logo Design

Commissioned Logo for Vintour Clothing and AccessoriesThis past weekend I designed a logo for an OKC apparel and accessories company called Vintour. The project sort of fell in my lap and the owner of the company was extremely easy to work with. It went really smooth from start to finish. I really lucked out!

You can check out Vintour's Myspace here.

I'd love to do more store logos, business cards, avatars, banners, etc. I love designing for small businesses. Anyway, if any of you are needing any graphics, feel free to contact me at happyplacedesign@gmail.com!

Thanks in advance!

Vote for Me at Karmaloop.com!

I just submitted my artwork to a design contest on Karmaloop.com. Karmaloop is a streetwear online retailer offering styles from over 45 classic and underground labels. I love designing 80's style artwork and when I saw that The Cool Kids needed a t-shirt design, I jumped on the opportunity!

New Etsy Banners!

I'm working on adding etsy banners for sale in my shop. I added a couple low-key designs tonight and will work on more detailed designs this week. I started a very electro, 80's banner tonight but I think I'm finally worn out from the past few days and have to save it for tomorrow. It just hit me when I was about to draw lighting bolts, yes, lightning bolts. Etsians won't know what they're getting themselves into when they check out my shop... :)
